Workers’ Compensation
Worker’s Compensation: when an individual is injured on the job, he or she is entitled to compensation, regardless of who is at fault. The Workers’ Compensation law states that an injured worker is entitled to three benefits.
These include:
- Medical treatment
- Weekly Workers’ Compensation pay for time missed from work while recovering
- Permanent disability benefits in the form of a lump sum or life time payments to compensate a worker for the long term effect of an injury or permanent total disability
In addition, some work-related injuries that are covered by Workers’ Compensation may also offer the option of filing a civil claim in the Circuit Courts. Fox & Vuylsteke will investigate all options available to the injured worker to be sure that person is receiving all the benefits available under the law.
